Islamic Worldview dalam pemikiran Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas

Abstract

This research aims to explore the Islamic worldview based on the perspective of Syed Naquib al-Attas, and its implications for the Islamic Education paradigm. Al-Attas said that the Islamic worldview is based on the principle of monotheism in which there are many aspects of knowledge and there are several concepts that are used as fundamental aspects, and recognizes that revelation is the main foundation before reason, empirical and intuition. This research will examine the characteristics of the Islamic worldview according to Syed Naquib al-Attas, including the recognition of metaphysical reality which includes the real and unseen worlds and also explain the relevance of the Islamic worldview to contemporary kalam/ theological problems originating from the history of Christianity in the West, giving birth to isms that contrary to the Islamic worldview, where one of the problems arises is semantic confusion. This research also discusses how the Islamic education paradigm must be in harmony with the principle of monotheism, leading a person to the recognition and recognition of god in existence.

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi worldview Islam berdasarkan sudut pandang Syed Muhammad Naquib (SMN) al-Attas, dan implikasinya terhadap paradigma Pendidikan Islam. Al- attas mengatakan bahwa worldview Islam berlandaskan pada prinsip tauhid yang di dalamnya terdapat banyak aspek pengetahuan serta terdapat beberapa konsep yang dijadikan sebagai aspek fundamental, serta mengakui bahwa wahyu sebagai fondasi utama sebelum rasio, empiris, dan intuisi. Penelitian ini akan mengkaji karakteristik worldview Islam menurut al-Attas termasuk pengakuan terhadap realitas metafisis yang mencakup dunia nyata dan gaib dan juga menjelaskan tentang merelevansikan worldview Islam terhadap permasalahan kalam/ teologi kontemporer yang bersumber dari sejarah Kristen di Barat sehingga melahirkan isme-isme yang bertentangan dengan worldview Islam, di mana salah satunya muncul permasalahan yaitu kekacauan semantik. Penelitian ini juga membahas bagaimana paradigma Pendidikan Islam harus selaras dengan prinsip tauhid, mengarahkan seseorang pada pengenalan dan pengakuan terhadap Tuhan dalam eksistensi.
